About Needle Turn Studio

Hi, I’m Francesca

After 15 years of creating and teaching crafts, both online and off, Needle Turn Studio was born. I wanted to find and share ways to reuse and recycle textiles, clothing and accessories that absolutely anyone can do from home with just a few small tools and any fabrics you can find!

In a culture of speed and overconsumption, needle turn applique offers something different. It gives us a slower pace, a mindful process and a way to give new life to existing materials. 

Applique has a rich, global history of story telling. It has brought people together for centuries to create heritage pieces that hang in museums today. We can use these techniques to tell modern stories and give our belongings more than a trend life cycle, while creating in a way that supports our mental wellbeing.
